We welcomed Gender Equality Commissioner Dr Niki Vincent to Frankston Hospital for a conversation on gender equality and intersectionality.
The Commissioner provided valuable insights into the role of the Commission for Gender Equality in the Public Sector and the progress being made under the Gender Equality Act, including the importance of having a Gender Equality Action Plan (GEAP) to promote gender equality in the workplace and having a process to ensure that when we introduce new policies, services and programs, we consider their impact from a gender and intersectionality perspective.
“At Peninsula Health we believe that diverse voices allow for a multitude of opinions, ideas and approaches — ultimately making us a stronger, more inclusive service, delivering the best care for our community,” says Trudy Ararat, Acting Executive Director People, Culture and Governance.
