This comprehensive report highlights our achievements and opportunities in clinical education throughout the 2024 year, showcasing key areas such as student placements, transition to practice, postgraduate programs, and lifelong learning.
Key highlights from the report include:
- A 14% growth in placement activity compared to 2023, with Nursing and Midwifery, Medicine, and Allied Health recording their highest placement activity on record.
- Peninsula Health provided 57,785 clinical placement days for 3,169 students from 20 disciplines in partnership with 19 education providers.
- High levels of student satisfaction, with 97% feeling safe, 91% feeling valued, and 96% feeling welcomed.
- Significant funding support from the Department of Health’s Training and Development Grant, amounting to $7,771,028 in 2023-24.
- Peninsula Health supported 361 graduates, interns and residents to transition to independent practice; a 64% growth over the last four years.
- Continued commitment to lifelong learning, with a 14% increase in professional development and study leave taken by staff from 2023 to 2024.
