Peninsula Health is deeply disappointed by the treatment of Uncle Mark Brown at the recent ANZAC Day service at the Shrine of Remembrance in Melbourne.
Uncle Mark is a highly respected Bunurong Elder and has been instrumental in fostering reconciliation and cultural understanding, including his pivotal role in the recent launch of our Reconciliation Action Plan at Willum Warrain in Hastings.
ANZAC Day is a time to honour all who have served and sacrificed, and it is profoundly disheartening that a respected First Nations Elder was not afforded the dignity and respect he deserves at such a significant event.
We offer our full support to Uncle Mark and the entire First Nations community at this time.
